We are looking for a **part time** Logistics Operative Assistant to join our clients Community Equipment Team, collecting and delivering equipment within South Tyneside borough.

The working week will be 22 hours over a week on a shift rota that will include a 6 hour shift on a Saturday.

**Overall Objectives of the Post**:
To provide an effective delivery, fitting, demonstration, collection and maintenance service to clients in receipt of equipment, helping them to maintain independence.
- **Main duties & responsibilities**_

**You will work towards the overall objectives of the post. You will**:

- Assist in all logístical / operations as directed by the Senior.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded appropriately and safely.
- Deliver, fit, demonstrate and collect equipment as directed.
- Ensure that the client and / or carer fully understand the safe use of such equipment and that it is suitable for the intended purpose within the clients living environment.
- Liaise directly with Senior Warehouse Operative on suitability and safety of equipment.
- Ensure that vehicle checklists are completed at the end of each shift, replenishing tools, stocks and fuel as necessary and reporting any defects to the vehicles to the Senior Warehouse Operative.
- Carry out decontamination of vehicles as required.
- Ensure that Health and Safety Legislation and good practice is adhered to at all times.
- To escalate promptly any equipment malfunctions or concerns relating to the service outside of your remit to the Senior Warehouse Operative of the Service.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months
Part-time hours: 22 per week

**Salary**: £10.79 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Delivery driver: 1 year (preferred)
