An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join the Older Persons Mental Health Community Service in Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. The vacancies are in the following areas:

- Community Treatment Team
- Memory Services (Memory Hub / Young Persons Dementia Service)

**The Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (TACP) will**:

- Use advanced knowledge and skills in Mental Health to undertake comprehensive clinical assessments, make decisions based on clinical reasoning and initiate, evaluate and modify a range of interventions.
- Provide professional senior clinical leadership and support within the speciality multi professional team and across service boundaries.
- Lead and coordinate the delivery and development of services through the use of effective evidence-based practice in line with agreed national standards for patient safety and clinical practice.
- To lead the provision of expert specialist knowledge, care and experience to support to the wider multidisciplinary team to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times
- To lead and participate in the continuing improvement of services in line with the Trust objectives.
- To lead the provision of education and training to clinical staff and internal/external agencies.

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

Established in 2005, we were one of the first foundation trusts in the country and since then have consistently achieved the highest levels of care for patients.

As a group we employ around 4,200 staff and currently provide 600 hospital beds across Gateshead. Our primary focus is on providing excellent general health services to our local community complemented by key specialist areas including Gynaecology, maternity, palliative care and old age psychiatry.

Essential
- Professional registration with NMC / HCPC / GPC
- Relevant degree, minimum 2:2 and willingness to work toward a Masters level qualification
- Evidence of relevant, recent study continuing education.
- Mentorship qualification
- Evidence of experience in therapeutic interventions relevant to working with enduring mental health problems i.e. PSI, CBT, Family Interventions, Group Work
- Experience of working in Older Adults Mental Health

Desirable
- Management and leadership qualification
- Prescribing qualification
- Advanced level therapeutic interventions
