**Process Engineering Manager**

**Reporting to the Head of Engineering**

**Based in**: Wilton, Teesside

**Position overview**:
To provide technical and line leadership to the performance management and process engineering department. To ensure organisational competence in process safety and process engineering. To initiate, develop and deliver key strategic performance improvementsto support the commercial success of the UK business.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Provide expert guidance and advice to the Sembcorp (UK) executive and business senior managers on process issues.
- Represent the company as a technical expert in discussions with external organisations including suppliers, potential new customers, existing customers and government agencies e.g. EA and HSE
- Successful completion of new and innovative projects/studies.
- Advice and guidance continually provided to enable resource to deliver and support improvements and developments.
- Technical proposals and plans to improve asset performance submitted for sanction.
- Timely and relevant input to annual budget provided.
- Process engineering activities delivered and resources managed within specified parameters.
- Project ideas developed, approved and successfully completed.
- Evidence of leadership of M&A activities for the Process area.
- Relevant advice given in an effective and timely manner to ensure organisational competence in Process Engineering.
- Establish and maintain a visible reputation as a technical expert within the industry by liaising with key networks.
- Policies, procedures and practices are legally compliant.
- SHE improvement plan is agreed, in place and regularly reviewed; targets within the plan are delivered.
- Establish and maintain ongoing productive relations with significant customers.
- Establish and maintain reputation as technical expert within the industry.
- High morale and motivation among Process Engineering personnel; personal objectives and training of development plans completed for self and direct reports; performance and recognition culture in place.

**Essential**
- Qualified Chartered Engineer with a Science or Engineering Degree and proven track record of achievement in a senior process engineering role within a utilities or design of utilities environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and business focus
- Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinker.
- Wide experience of process plant operations, design and commissioning.
- Experience of leading teams and excellent leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to present to board level,key stakeholders,major customers and suppliers,external agencies and the shop floor.
- Results driven and quality focused.
