An exciting opportunity for a Firmware Manager to join a cutting-edge R&D team based in Devon.
The Firmware Manager will be responsible for managing an existing team of FW & Regression Engineers, including contractors.We are looking for a highly motivated individual with leadership and communication skills as well as with technical knowledge on FWdevelopment. The role is multi-disciplinary, hands on, with a firmware foundation and skills such as Roadmap definition and maintenance, program management, coding and solving technical issues.
Direct experience in firmware development and verification using small and powerful microcontrollers systems is highly desired.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of the Firmware Development Team and optimisation of development tools.
- Responsible for recruitment, quarterly team performance appraisal reviews & department budget.
- Definition and maintenance of the Firmware Roadmap.
- Definition and execution of FW development Plans, including sprint planning and prioritization.
- Effective and efficient communication of plan status to peers and Management structure.
- Generation and maintenance of all necessary documentation
- Engagement with broader development team for problem resolution
- Primary FW interface with customers and partners
