St Helens, United Kingdom Technical Fire Safety Group Full time

The Trainee Accountant will join an ambitious and motivated Finance team to complete a training programme that will provide exposure to all functions of the team's activities to complement progress with professional studies.

You can expect to gain in-depth technical accounting knowledge working alongside the Pyroguard Financial Controller and Accountant with initial duties being:

- Active member of project team implementing an automated AP (Accounts Payable) system
- Management of the AP system and ensuring that purchase invoices are processed efficiently into the Sage 200 financial software
- Assist the Financial Accountant with resolving invoice queries
- Chasing any backlog of invoices before they build up and cause problems with supplier relationships
- Document and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the company's AP
- Assist the Group's Management Accountant with month-end routines to maintain the standard costs

You are likely to have received an education or be competent in: You should possess, or expect to achieve this year, a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in any discipline preferably finance related.
