Our client is a well-established market leader in their field.They manufacture and supply a range of products to healthcare providers across the UK and internationally. **The Job**:

- The role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer who needs additional support with the management
- and coordination of all purchasing activity for the group.
- **Day to day responsibilities will include**:

- Management, training and development of purchasing team (currently 1 individual).
- Ensuring sufficient stocks of raw materials. Coordinating activities across all departments to ensure
- all relevant factors considered in setting appropriate raw material safety stock settings.
- Helping gather demand forecasts that may impact future purchasing/stock levels and production activity i.e. being a key interface between sales pipeline and production.
- Identifying/addressing any risks of ‘single point of failure’ in supply chain e.g. alternative /
- secondary supply arrangements.
- Working with R&D department as required for specific medical device related supplies.
- Domestic and international supply chain management incl. general contract/relationship management, negotiating best / fair terms and prices, understanding impact of lead times, reducing supplier risk across the portfolio etc.
- Planning, coordinating, and conducting supplier audits - linking with Quality department as appropriate, and including assessment of HR / labour practices etc. to ensure compliance with
- Modern Slavery Act legislation etc.
- Taking an active / lead role in coordinating ESG activities across the group and identifying opportunities to reduce carbon footprint/emissions from procurement activities e.g. identifying
- alternative recycled/re-processed materials etc.
- Coordinating / drafting / editing supply contracts - being familiar with key clauses and legal terminology to ensure group’s interests are maintained at all times.

**The Person:
**Must have relevant knowledge and experience from previous role(s).
Ideally having worked previously in medical devices sector, with understanding of related quality considerations (ISO 13485 etc)

**Key attributes for the role**:

- Previous experience in similar role(s) with CIPS qualifications to Advanced/Professional level
- Knowledge and experience of INCOTERMS and purchasing from export/global markets
- Full, clean UK Driving Licence
- Good, assertive negotiator with experience of contract management
- High standards of professionalism with strong and effective communication skills
- Punctual, strong time-keeper and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible, self-motivated, team worker with high levels of attention to detail.
- Can do, proactive and solution driven attitude

**The Salary**: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
**The Hours**:Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm
**The Benefits**:25 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday, a match contributory pension.
