**Your role**

If you are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people of colour from Suffolk’s LGBT*Q+ community, this **LGBT*Q+ Youth Worker** role could be the perfect fit for you.

You will be part of a supportive youth work team, delivering face-to-face sessions that draw on our youth work curriculum and your own experiences to connect with and inspire young LGBT*Q+ people of colour. As a youth work team, you will create fun, inclusive activities like social education activities, sports, arts, and social action, helping young people grow in confidence, independence, and creativity.

Building strong relationships and understanding safeguarding is key in this role. You will initially be working with our Ipswich youth group and in South Suffolk.

**Your responsibilities**

You will help us develop our support to young people of colour from Suffolk’s LGBT*Q+ community through our SOUL project, by running specific sessions, activities, networking and events ensuring a safe and welcoming space, while offering mentorship and supporting young people.

**You will need**:

- Level 2 Youth Work qualification (or willing to work towards).
- Previous youth work experience.
- Lived experience as a LGBT*Q+ person of colour.
- An understanding of the confidentiality and safeguarding requirements of the role.
- A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
- Be positive and motivated.
- Ability to travel across Suffolk.
