**Learning Mentor (AP Specialist)**

**Location**: Schools/Community Settings/Office
**Hours**: Part-Time (Term Time Only), 30 hours per week (evening and weekend work required)
**Salary**: £25,350 - 27,000 FTE,

Are you passionate about using sport and activity to make a real difference in young people’s lives? Do you have experience supporting children with complex needs, helping them to develop their behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth? If so, Epic Partners is looking for a **Learning Mentor (AP Specialist)** to lead engaging and impactful programmes as part of our Alternative Provision.

**About the Role**

As Learning Mentor, you will take a leading role in delivering enjoyable, progressive, and safe programmes of activities for children and young people. You will work closely with those facing behavioural, emotional, and complex needs, helping them to develop and thrive through sport and activity-based learning. You will also play a key part in developing resources, supporting other coaches, and ensuring sessions are engaging, meaningful, and inclusive.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the delivery of behaviour, emotional wellbeing, PSHE, and personal development sessions within our Alternative Provision.
- Support Sport & Activity Coaches in delivering a wide range of sports and curriculum-based activities.
- Develop resources and session plans to enhance the impact of Alternative Provision.
- Work closely with young people to encourage active participation, motivation, and confidence-building.
- Build relationships with local agencies to support project delivery.
- Promote the provision through outreach, including parent engagement, school assemblies, and social media.
- Ensure all required paperwork and reports are completed to a high standard.
- Support young leaders, apprentices, and mentors in developing their skills and confidence.
- Act as a role model for children and young people, embodying Epic’s values and commitment to equal opportunities and safeguarding.
- Attend training, meetings, and performance development sessions as required.

- Good IT skills, including the ability to use social media effectively.

**Experience & Knowledge**
- Experience working in Alternative Provision, supporting young people aged 7-16.
- Experience working with children and young people with complex needs, including behavioural challenges and SEND.
- An understanding of the issues faced by children living in disadvantaged areas.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices for vulnerable children and young people.

Pay: £17,141.67-£21,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Nottingham, Nottinghamshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Working with Children and Young People: 3 years (required)
- Alternative Provision: 1 year (required)
