Accountant

**Location**:Greater Manchester

**Salary**:£35,000 to £40,000 DOE

One of IT Bods leading clients is a leading independent Financial Services firm based in Stockport. Its specialist services offering is expanding rapidly within a buoyant market sector. As a result they have now established themselves as one of the leadingadvice firms in their field.

Due to rapid growth, they are now seeking a professional and experienced Accountantto support the Finance Director based at the head office in Stockport. This is a varied role consisting of bookkeeping and accounting support, as well as management reportingresponsibilities.

In addition, the business is embarking on several exciting growth and process improvement projects in which the Accountantwill take an active role.

**The package**

The salary for this full-time position is between £35,000 and £40,000 per annum depending on experience. All employees are eligible for life assurance, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and 3% employer pension contribution.

**Key tasks and responsibilities**
- Full end-to-end bookkeeping and accounts processing
- Bank payments set up and bank reconciliations
- Managing approvals, expenses and credit cards
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and submissions
- Purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Overseeing payroll in conjunction with the external payroll agency
- Creation of weekly KPI reporting for the senior leadership team
- Supporting the production of weekly rolling cash flow forecasts
- Assist the sales and marketing team with financial analyses
- Collaborating on management accounts, including journals, pre-payments and accruals
- Preparation of periodic reporting to the regulators
- Liaising with statutory accountants, auditors, tax advisers and HMRC as required
- Assistance on process improvement and growth projects

**Required skills and experience**
- Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-growing entrepreneurial environment
- Full or part-qualified accountant
- Proficient with online accounting systems (preferably Sage, Xero or Quickbooks)
- Advanced Excel skills (SUMIF, Pivot Tables)
- Able to plan and manage multiple tasks whilst also being adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong collaborative work ethic and excellent communication skills
- Highly accurate with great attention to detail
