**This is a full time, fixed term appointment for 22 months.**

**An excellent opportunity to join Birkbeck’s cross-college learning development team and play a lead role in the design and delivery of activities to support the attainment of students with a particular focus on Black students.**

You will be responsible for the design, delivery, coordination and evaluation of an orientation and programme of learning support and activities for Black students in receipt of Goldman Sachs Diversity Scholarships in the Faculties of Business & Law and Science.

You will also contribute to the development and implementation of Birkbeck’s wider learning development strategy and lead on the implementation of recommendations from the College’s awarding gap research.

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- Be educated to degree level
- Have excellent knowledge and understanding of academic skills and student support in higher education.
- Be an experienced educator with a commitment to improving and promoting equality and diversity in the College
- Have an ability to relate well to a diverse body of students, particularly mature students from different educational backgrounds.

**Remuneration**:
Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £41,348 rising to £47,118 per annum

The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
