The post holder will be expected to promote and encourage teamwork and flexibility to improve performance and manage any equipment issues whilst also dealing with daily employee relation concerns.

**Key Tasks and Accountabilities**:

- To demonstrate behaviour in a way that is consistent with the company’s competencies, values and behaviours.
- To ensure that all employees are following safe working practices and adhering to all health and safety procedures.
- Investigate, review and report all accidents and hazardous occurrences in accordance with company policy and take the necessary actions to prevent reoccurrences.
- To manage the resources within the department to achieve the required KPI targets, and implement recovery plans to address non-achievement of KPI’s.
- Monitor and address issues concerning personal performance, attendance, punctuality, interpersonal issues and manage in line with the company’s employee relations policies and procedures.
- To report and co-ordinate with maintenance departments on breakdown of machines and agree action plans to recover production efficiencies.
- To ensure that all employees are working in compliance with both internal and external quality controls and systems.
- Creating the production plan in conjunction with the Machine Shop Manager.
- Deputise in the absence of the Machine Shop Manager.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- At least five years’ experience as a professional supervisor within a manufacturing/production environment.
- Experience of working within a similar heavy industry environment.
- Machining background with knowledge of CNC machines.
- Ability of working to tight deadlines in a safe manner.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Lean Manufacturing / 5S / Continuous Improvement experience would be an advantage.

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
