**Business Intelligence Engineer - SQL / Power BI / DAX - £40k + bonus - remote**
**Overview**

**The role**:

- Collect, analyzes, and shares data to help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience, and business results.
- Utilize database and reporting technologies to design, develop, and evaluate innovative business intelligence tools and automated reports.
- Design, develops and tests BI solutions such as databases, data warehouses, queries and views, reports, and dashboards.
- Perform data conversions, imports, and exports of data within and between internal and external software systems.
- Enhance the performance of business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index.
- Document new and existing models, solutions, and implementations.
- Contribute to the appropriate Agile ceremonies.
**Responsibilities**:

- Translate business needs to technical specifications
- Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
- Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy)
- Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
- Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
- Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
- Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
- Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
- Analyze existing reports and optimize them for standardization across the company.
- Develop and update technical documentation
**Skills and Experience**:

- Proven experience working as a BI Developer
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
- Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
- Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI,DAX)
- Extensive knowledge of SQL and data manipulation languages
- Knowledge of the Azure Data Factory
