We’re looking for a technical delivery person with a strong interest in improving the environment to join our Flood Risk Data and Evidence team in Yorkshire. You'll be responsible for supporting our flood risk projects, helping to deliver data and evidence for them to make the best decisions for people and the environment. This is an exciting time to join the team, the new Capital Programme has lots of opportunities and you’ll be well placed to make a difference. You’ll be an enthusiastic, organised, motivated individual with high standards and a proven record of technical project delivery. You’ll have some experience of flood risk modelling and/or GIS and the focus will be on delivering our elements of the programme in an efficient and effective way. Collaboration with our National Evidence and Risk service, Programme and Contract Management colleagues and our Area Partnership and Strategic Overview teams is essential for effective delivery.

The team
- Our Partnership and Strategic Overview teams develop the technical knowledge needed to deliver a strategic overview of flooding, providing compelling evidence to support our vital Flood Risk work. The Data and Evidence PSO team coordinate the use of spatial data across the Area through strong data management and technical support, turning data into useable information.

Experience/skills required
- Through your experience you will ideally be able to demonstrate the following:
- Have an engineering / science / geography background or a relevant degree / professional qualification
- Strong technical skills and experience in hydrological / hydraulic modelling or GIS
- Proven track record of delivering technical projects
- A love of the environment and a drive to improve it
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and competing demands
- Be an intelligent problem solver, with a methodical work approach
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
