**The role**
We are looking for a capable and adept individual to provide a key service within our Tenancy Management team. Working closely across the wider team you will provide dedicated legal support for cases that have been escalated through the work streams. You will manage a varied caseload, use a range of tools available to you to ensure a successful outcome to the business.
This role will involve a mix of working from home, in office and appearances in court across the Midlands, e.g Coventry, Warwickshire and Northampton. Limited involvement in out of hours rota (to be discussed at interview)
This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.
**What you'll achieve**
- Manage and problem solve legal cases and where appropriate, undertake investigations, gather evidence and take action using both legal and non-legal interventions as defined by law, legislation and Orbits policies & procedures
- Support complainants and witnesses to help Orbit as a landlord take appropriate legal action.
- Follow case management to successful conclusion, e.g., Manage end to end injunction process.
- Communicate effectively to team, customers, and public agencies
- Prepare court documentation, reports, witness statements and advocate for Orbit in court.
**What you'll bring**
**Essential skills**
- Understanding of Tenancy Management and understanding of housing law, legislation, CPR both mandatory and discretionary possession grounds.
- Experience of Tenancy enforcement action and / or court appearances.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work unsupervised, with a proven record of accomplishment and delivering results
- Able to travel to meet the needs of the role (court appearances, team meetings with wider Tenancy team etc)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
**Desirable skills**
- Experience of presenting in court and in depth case law understanding.
- Demonstrable understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and impact on Housing Law
- Proven experience of giving advice and guidance in complex and challenging cases
