**Consents & Environment Associate - Offshore Wind**
**Location**: Edinburgh (hybrid working)
Our client is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy who develop, finance, build and operate offshore wind farm projects all around the world.
The Consents and Environment Associate will support the development, consenting and environmental management of Offshore Wind Farms in the UK.
You will be working for the Project Development Manager for one or more UK Projects, covering phases at various stages of the project life cycle including site selection, project consenting, Environmental Impact Assessment, discharge of consent conditions,construction phase consent management and operational phase consent and environmental compliance.

**Responsibilities**
- Working with the Development Manager and the Environmental Coordinator, manage onshore consenting and environmental risks during the construction phase
- Manage onshore consent compliance and obtain any necessary new planning consents for the project
- Manage contracts to support the Development team requirements, including budget and programme management
- Ensure key project Development documentation including commitments register, budget trackers, risk register and programme, is kept up to date
- Provide project representation for engagement with regulators and statutory stakeholders including attendance at strategic internal and external stakeholder meetings, using negotiating, and influencing skills to achieve the project's desirable outcomes
- Provide strategic advice and guidance on consenting approaches and compliance issues to the team and the Project
- Support the consenting activities associated with the OFTO transaction process
- Support the handover from Construction into O&M for all associated consenting documents and activities
- Provide environment and consenting input to the wider project teams working on other projects
- To represent the company on industry committees as appropriate to the role

**Requirements**:

- 2-5 years' experience within a professional company (e.g., Utility, consultancy, Government Agency or NGO) with direct experience of the renewables industry and/or the consenting/planning process
- Planning, legal, environmental or geography academic background and qualifications
- Demonstrable Project Management Experience in a development environment
- Knowledge and experience of planning/consenting activities for onshore developments in different UK and/or Ireland planning regimes
- Demonstrable experience of working with Stakeholders and Regulators
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem solving including complex consenting issues and interface with wider project
- Multi-skilled self-starter, with high levels of energy & commitment to deliver
