Medical Records Clerk

Applications are invited from individuals with Medical Records experience, with good interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and work as part of a team. Good communication and organisational skills are essential to work as part of the Medical Records Library team.
Medical Records Department helps to provide a 24 hour service dealing with:
- Problem solving.
Up to 200 telephone calls each day.
Pulling and filing of up to 4000 case notes per day.
Liaise with other clerical and administrative staff.
Continuous use of the hospital computer system to access the Patient Administration system.
Pulling and delivery of all case notes required for emergency care achieving the departmental quality standard of delivery within 2 hours wherever possible.
Daily pulling of large volumes of case notes for outpatient clinics from Pinpoint tracking system, printing delivery notes and missing case note sheets.
Create skinny folders and prepare folders for all outpatient clinics and admissions as required.
Answer telephone requests for case notes recording details of requestor and notes required.
Assist with Electronic Document Management System queries.
Answer telephone calls and redirect as appropriate from the general public, locating patients.
Complete any relevant forms for requests for information from Government bodies.
Man reception desk in order to assist visitors to the department and help maintain the security and confidentiality of patients’ records. Maintain a log of all visitors to the department and their specific requirements.
Deal with frequent telephone enquiries relating to medical records from medical, nursing and administrative staff, police and other outside agencies and the general public.
