Duties include:
This apprenticeship role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working within a school environment while undertaking a **Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification**. The apprentice will work under the direction of teachers and school staff to support pupils’ learning, well-being, and development.
The role involves:
- Supporting **teaching and learning activities** in the classroom.
- Working with **individual pupils or small groups**, including those with **additional learning needs (ALN)**.
- Assisting in the preparation of learning materials and maintaining an **engaging classroom environment**.
- Encouraging pupils’ **literacy, numeracy, and communication skills**.
- Providing support during **break times, extra-curricular activities, and school trips**.
- Helping pupils with **personal care needs** (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility) under supervision.
- Developing **professional relationships** with teachers, staff, and pupils.
Main Responsibilities & Duties:
- **Supporting Learning & Development**_
- _Work under the direction of the _**class teacher**_ _to assist in lesson delivery and learning activities._
- _**Prepare and organise**_ _learning materials before and after lessons._
- _Provide _**one-to-one and small group**_ _support to pupils, including those with _**additional learning needs (ALN)**_._

- _Support pupils in following _**Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans**_ _under teacher guidance._

- _Support in _**managing pupil behaviour**_ _following school policies._
- _Assist pupils during _**transitions between lessons and activities**_._
- _Provide _**personal care support**_ _where required (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility)._
- **Supervision & Extra-Curricular Support**_
- _Supervise and engage with pupils during _**break times, lunch, and outdoor activities**_._
- _Accompany staff and pupils on _**educational visits and school trips**_, ensuring their _**safety and engagement**_._
- _Promote _**positive social interactions**_ _and support pupils’ _**emotional and social development**_._
- **Professional Development & Training**_
- _Fully engage with the _**apprenticeship programme**_, attending training and completing assignments._
- _Learn from experienced staff and develop _**best practices in teaching support**_._
- _Gain a _**comprehensive understanding of school policies**_, including safeguarding, equality, and confidentiality._
- _Work towards achieving a _**Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification**_._
- **Communication & Teamwork**_
- _Build _**professional relationships**_ _with teachers, staff, and pupils._
- _Provide _**feedback**_ _to teachers on pupils' progress and engagement._
- _Communicate effectively with _**staff, parents, and carers**_, as appropriate._
