**Function**: Operations Finance

- we have a fantastic hybrid working environment, you’ll need to be in the office at least 2 days per week but the rest of your week can be flexible to what works best for you and your role.
**Type of role**: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
This role is mainly responsible to enable effective management and control over Premier Inn and Restaurant Labour hours, Labour cost and delivery of targeted labour efficiencies.Financial insight, support and control to Labour Operation of c1300 sitesin addition to key labour projects as necessary.
As part of the team responsible for the largest cost line (our People at c.£500m), this individual will aid in maintaining labour models and systems to deliver best in class labour reporting and drive insight and action into the operations of the business.
**What you will be doing**:
Business Partnering
- Key Business partner for forward looking and change activities impacting the Operations Team and impacting our labour costs.Supporting with the management of the biggest cost line which is also the most important, i.e. our people
- Finance lead on the Operational Labour Groups for Premier Inn and Restaurants, working closely with Operations, HR, S&S, New Site Openings and Commercial Teams
- Supporting change initiatives and discussions with judgement and strength of conviction to reach optimal outcome for finance & ops - across a breadth of labour areas (site hourly models, contract base, management structures, reward activities (bonus/payreview), month end processes and projects)
- Management of analysts in the team, supporting with priorities and managing wider expectations on delivery - coaching and development
Financial Processes
- Lead for site level labour budgeting process for all sites and formats, with quarterly updates and forecasts
- Lead process improvement reviews across the team to ensure change requests are correctly reflected in weekly, period and system processes.
- Own end to end bonus review process for operations, feeding into iteration of schemes for future years
Model
- Manage the Labour Models in both businesses including the ongoing evolution and alignment to the operating model, ensuring strong governance and controls are in place
- Develop and maintain the efficiency roadmaps, liaising with Operational groups to deliver central targets - monthly tracking
- Regularly review the impact that future product trials could have on the labour model, flagging the potential impacts to the TLG.Planning and managing impacts of proposed roll out cost assumptions, identifying key financial pinch points and providingstrategic input to mitigate business impact
- Support for maintaining and developing tools and process improvement of systems to optimise labour scheduling for operations
**Why we’d love you to apply**:
- Excellent Academics - 1st / 2.1 from university
- Qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA).Minimum 2 years PQE
- Good understanding of financial planning and management techniques
- Commercial Acumen - understanding of operational business drivers
- Interpersonal skills - ability to communicate with and influence breadth of stakeholders, with high resilience
- Proactive in prioritising workload and work autonomously
- Analytical skills - ability to identify core issues and provide assessments grounded in compelling logic - problem solving for recommendations
- Financial modelling and ability to distil large amounts of data into a simple format.
- Attention to detail
- Use of Microsoft Office, included advanced Excel skills and macros
- Actively Integrated into the Business - Exposure to roles where finance acts as a key partner in driving business success
- Able to show strong commercial judgements and directly influencing action / results
- Strength of conviction & lateral thinking with ambiguous analysis
