Murray Myers Recruitment are very pleased to be assisting our client, a major manufacturer in their recruitment of an experienced Production Engineer for their plant based in Wolverhampton.
Role Overview:

- The Production Engineer will report directly into the Machining Cell Leader. The Production Engineer is a key part of the machine shop cell who will be involved in machining operations for small intricate parts to large fabrications. Primary programmingresponsibility will initially be for the smaller CNC machines although the progressive aim and key objective for this role to have responsibility for production engineering and programming activities across the machine shop.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare NC programmes for Fanuc and Heidenhain CNC machines
- Ability to programme offline and online
- Manages programme files with effective revision control
- Maintains effective communication protocols between main network and CNC machines
- Proving programmes out to ensure right first time objectives are achieved
- Producing time estimates for programming time, machine set up and run time
- Jig and fixture design support
- Specifies and liaises with suppliers and the procurement department in order to maintain suitable and adequate tooling, jigs and fixtures for all machine tools
- Undertakes 5S initiatives in the machine shop
- Utilises the NCR process to understand machine shop quality issues
- Supports the cell leader during Tool Box Talks and acts as deputy from time to time e.g. during periods of annual leave
- Trains operators in effective setting techniques and online programming competencies.
- Stays up to speed with the latest machining technologies and makes the case for investment in the same
- Acts as a mentor to an apprentice machinist, ensuring learning logs are kept up to date, providing technical support, signing off competencies.

Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience:

- High level of CNC programming competency in Fanuc and Heidenhain languages
- Experience using CAD/CAM packages, in particular FeatureCAM
- HNC in mechanical / manufacturing engineering or similar
- Programming, setting and operating 3 and 4-axis machine tools
- Extensive experience manufacturing precision components on turning, milling and boring machine
- A willingness to share and impart their industry knowledge and manufacturing experience with colleagues within the organisation
- Flexible to do other tasks and / or extra hours to meet the operational needs of the business
- Good understanding of ANL’s manufacturing processes and procedures
- Can prioritise their own work load based on project needs
- A willingness to share and impart their industry knowledge and manufacturing experience with colleagues within the organisation
