We are recruiting **Make Ready Driver's ** for our NHS client in **Bedfordshire** which will be in the following cities**:Kempston, Luton**

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Primarily, the role is to collect and move vehicles as and when required so they are in the right place for operational crews to use at the start of their shift. Other vehicle moves will be required as will joining the Make Ready team with the preparation of vehicles.

**Driving Duties**:
~You will be responsible for the safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles. This will both include movement between stations, between stations and Trust workshops, or between stations and other designated vehicle repairers. Occasional pickup from other locations may also be required
~ To ensure all vehicles are always driven in a safe and economical manner and in line with Trust policy, noting that the vehicles are easily identified as belonging to the Trust
~ To carry out vehicle daily inspections to ensure vehicles are safe to drive
~ To carry out extended road tests of vehicles during both collection and delivery to ensure the vehicles are ready for use by the Trust. These hours of collection and delivery will extend beyond the normal working day, so flexibility on start and finish times and working days will be required
**Cleaning Duties**:
~ To clean ambulances for operational duty to agreed Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) quality standards for the benefit of our patients and staff
~ All cleaning duties of both inside and outside of Trust vehicles are to be in accordance with Trust IPC standards and methodology
~ **The role will involve shift working including nights and weekends**

**Key Responsibilities of the Role**:
~ To deliver and collect Trust Vehicles between Trust sites and/or external sites/agents
~ To confirm with Make Ready staff that the vehicle they are due to move has the correct levels of stock and equipment assets assigned
~ To undertake ‘Vehicle Checks’ on each vehicle driven to ensure it has legal tyres, functioning lights, sufficient oil and coolant, and fuel for the journey being completed, in accordance with Trust Policy
~ To report any defects that arise during the collection, delivery, or road test to Make Ready staff and or workshops staff prior to the vehicle being handed over to the user of that vehicle
~ Able to reactively plan working day based on operational requirements and changes to pre-planned work
~ To maintain contact with their Line Manager should they be required to be absent due to sickness
~ To establish and develop good working relationships at all levels and in all disciplines throughout the Trust as appropriate to facilitate the roles of the department
~ To communicate accurately within the team on the status of all vehicles with the depot
~ To check the consumable levels of the vehicle including fuel, AdBlue, screen washer and any others, as trained
~ To be competent in the use of specialist tools such as pressure washers, steam cleaners and valeting equipment

**Qualifications necessary to performance of the role**:
~ C1 Licence (MUST BE REQUIRED)

**THIS WILL BE A ONGOING CONTRACT**

**Salary**: £11.45-£17.00 per hour
