We are seeking a motivated, caring and dynamic Phlebotomist for this exciting Full-time opportunity to work with the Barnet Integrated Community Services, based at Edgware community hospital. The role is for our community phlebotomy service, seeing patients across Barnet at home, this is not a clinic based.

If so, an exciting new opportunity is available for a community phlebotomist to join our newly restructured Planned Integrated Care Service.
Phlebotomist will provide a mixture of general and specific care to a group of patients under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or allied health professional. You will work in a variety of settings including community centers and with patient/ carers in their own homes throughout the borough of Barnet.
General education of GCSE or equivalent knowledge. Basic skills in literacy Level 1 and numeracy level 2 Phlebotomist course. You will be required to undertake a literacy and numeracy test prior to interview. All new Health Care Support Workers (Band 1-4) across the NHS are required to complete the Care Certificate programme. NVQ Level Health and Social Care qualifications and other training is desirable.
Must have good oral and written communication skills, basic computer and keyboard skills. Skills in self-management managing time and workload, able to follow instructions and work independently without direct supervision. Should have experience working as part of a team, with older people, giving care, and working in a health and social care setting. It is desirable you have some experience working in the community setting.
**Essential**: Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
You need to be able to use a map and SAT NAV to navigate to patient’s homes.

- Phlebotomist will provide a mixture of general and specific care to a group of patients under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or allied health professional.
- The Phlebotomist will work in a variety of settings including community centres and with patient/ carers in their own homes.
- The post holder will be expected to become proficient and competent in their area of practice by undertaking competency assessments specific to the area of clinical practice. The Phlebotomist will promote optimum independence and individualised client centred care to a delegated caseload.
- The post holder will also support the integrated team to deliver against key performance indicators and maintain quality of the service.
