**Job Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to **gastroscopy**, **colonoscopy**, **ERCP**, and **EUS** as per departmental protocols.
- Manage complex cases involving gastrointestinal conditions, including gastrointestinal bleeding, cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and others.
- Ensure comprehensive patient care from consultation to diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of gastroenterologists, surgeons, anesthetists, radiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide on-call coverage as required, ensuring availability for emergency endoscopy services as per rotation schedule.
- Participate in and contribute to departmental audits, clinical governance activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in teaching and supervision of junior medical staff, fostering a supportive and educational environment.

**Essential Qualifications and Skills**
- **Medical Degree** from a recognized institution with full registration and licensing with the **[relevant medical board, e.g., General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK, or equivalent]**.
- **Completion of Specialist Training** in Gastroenterology or a related field, with a strong emphasis on Endoscopy.
- **Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)** or equivalent specialist certification.
- Demonstrated experience as a Consultant in Endoscopy, with proficiency in advanced endoscopic techniques such as **polypectomy, mucosal resection, variceal banding**, and **management of gastrointestinal bleeding**.
- **JAG Accreditation in Endoscopy** or equivalent credential is highly desirable.
- **Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)** or **Basic Life Support (BLS)** certification.
- Strong familiarity with infection control and safety protocols within an endoscopy unit.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation software.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £95.15-£126.49 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
