**About us**: York Road Project (YRP) is a homelessness charity that supports Clients in the borough of Woking and referred clients from a neighbouring borough, Waverley. It was started by a number of passionate individuals from various churches in Woking offering sandwiches and soup to people sleeping rough. From there it developed into a 'winter watch' project supported by Shelter, providing emergency accommodation over the winter months.
In 2001 York Road Project was formed with The Charity Commission as a registered Charity. Since then we have worked with hundreds of people, supporting them to move forward with confidence and independence. We are passionate about the work we do and believe we have a positive impact within our local community. We believe that everyone has the right to have a home of their own and our mission is to end homelessness together.
**Role**:
Experienced Administrator is required for a well-established and rapidly expanding Homeless Charity & Support organisation, based in Central Woking.
**General tasks**:
- Dealing with petty cash and banking, including month end reporting to the Bookkeeper.
- Logging housing benefit payments.
- Scanning and filing of archive paperwork.
- Monitoring stationery and supplies inventories.
- Organising repairs/maintenance for properties and services as required.
- Admin support with recruitment including placing adverts and chasing references.
- Attending and minuting meetings where required.
- Assisting Purchaser where required. (including holiday cover).
- Support team with events where appropriate.
- Attend training were necessary.
- Other tasks as directed.
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of York Road Project.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Methodical and thorough approach to work.
- Organised and flexible.
- Good at juggling tasks and prioritising.
- A great team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- A desire to show initiative.
- Understanding of confidentiality and compassion.
York Road Project is a fast paced environment and there may be times when the post holder will be required to assist other members of the team.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
