We are looking to recruit reliable and enthusiastic Dispatch Assistants to join our motivated, friendly and hardworking team based in Bicester, Oxfordshire to support the smooth running of our EOC department.

**The Role**
We are looking for Dispatch Assistants to work as part of our dynamic team to help support our 999 service. You will be working as part of a two person dispatch team to effectively utilise the allocation of emergency and non-emergency vehicles to incidents.

As part of the team, you will be working in the ambulance control centre alongside call takers, clinicians and other NHS professionals. You will be directly involved with the allocation of vehicles to a large variety of situations which would include anything from a Road traffic collision to someone having a cardiac arrest. You will be operating a range of radio, text and computer assisted dispatch systems as well as maintaining vehicle and incident logs.

You will be required to demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner. Being able to retain composure in busy and stressful situations is vital for this role. This is a challenging and exciting career where no two shifts are ever quite the same.

All day Saturday (midnight to midnight) as well as any week day after 8pm and before 6am - Time plus 35%

All day Sunday and public holidays (midnight to midnight) - Time plus 69%

Whilst we would like to assure you that SCAS endeavours to continue with the recruitment for this position as planned, please bear in mind there may be COVID19 related Government guidelines for us to adhere to that may cause changes out of our control. These changes may mean that we must alter our training delivery in which case we would inform you of any changes to the plan as soon as we can.

The government has announced a consultation regarding mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for all frontline NHS staff, health and social care workers, and volunteers working in England who have face-to-face contact with service users. Depending on the outcome of this consultation they may need to provide evidence that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are medically exempt.
