Projects Operative

Do you enjoy working outdoors and being part of a team? If so, we have an opportunity within our Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Projects team.Our depot is located in Crewkerne, but the works are site based and daily travelling across the region will be required.

**What you'll do**:
We describe ourselves as ‘community within a community' here at Wessex Water, and the R&M Projects team is no exception. We provide a vital service that helps to ensure we supply water to 1.4 million customers, and we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the team.

As one of our R&M Projects Supply Team leaders, working in the Network Utilities team, you'll carry out a variety of repairs and maintenance activities to the water supply network, making sure that it meets the highest quality and customer service standards. This will involve installing network meters and PRV's complexes, challenging burst water mains, large diameter mains work and temporary works when required, as well as landscaping and general building works to finish sites to a high standard.

You'll be working within a great team, outdoors, dealing with different challenges every day and providing a vital service to our customers. These jobs involve operating as part of a two
- person team.

We're looking for someone with a positive and can-do attitude who's well-organised and strives to be there best, customer focused and a great team player.

**What you'll need**:

- A valid driving licence and able to tow.
- Motivated to deliver high standards of work.
- Transferable skills from either the utilities sector, groundworks or general building.
- Happy to travel across the whole Wessex Water region for work.

Experience in the following areas would be preferred but not essential as training can be provided:

- Abrasive Wheels
- Asbestos Awareness
- Cable Avoidance
- EUSR (Water Hygiene)
- Face Fit
- Manual Handling
- Confined Spaces
- Forward tipping dumper 180 10t or below
- Above and Below 10T 360 Excavator
- Excavator as a crane
- Slinger/Signaller
- SHEA Water
- EUSR Categories 3, 4, and 5 install, inspect, and remove timber, steel, and proprietary excavation support systems.
- Working at heights
- Fire Warden

It is important to understand that you will be required to participate in out of hours planned works.
