**Post**: Exam Invigilator (Seasonal)

**Salary**:£12.26ph

**Scope of Role**

The role of the invigilator is to ensure that the examination is conducted according to JCQ guidelines and instructions in order to:

- Ensure the security of the examination before, during and after the examination
- Prevent possible administrative failures. Training will be provided.

**Experience**

Experience is not required, as training will be provided, although applicants will be asked to declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them.
- Be flexible
- Have effective communication skills

**Main duties**
- To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Longridge High School instructions
- To play a key role in upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process

**Before exams**
- To report to and be briefed by the exams officer prior to each exam session
- To keep confidential exam papers and materials secure before, during and after exams
- To ensure exam rooms are set out according to the instructions
- To start exams

**During exams**
- To keep disruption in exam rooms to a minimum
- To deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively
- To record/report any incidents, disruption or irregularities
- To complete attendance registers

**After exams**
- To securely return all exam scripts and exam materials to the Exams Officer

**The primary duties of a Scribe**
- Act as Invigilator, ensuring that examination regulations are adhered to

**The primary duties of a Reader**
- Only read the questions as they are written
- Read back over parts of the assessment material as often as necessary
- Act as Invigilator, ensuring that examination regulations are adhered to.

**Other**
- To attend training, update or review sessions as required
- To undertake, where required and where able, other duties requested by the Exams Officer,
- For example:_
- other exams-related administrative tasks

- Demonstrate strong communication skills and be able to work under pressure.
- Demonstrate initiative, strong attention to detail and sound administrative skills.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Be accurate in both verbal and written communication.

The core focus of this role is to work with the Exams Officer to effectively deliver the internal mock and GCSE examinations.
