Our client is a renowned law firm with 12 offices worldwide and more than 900 Lawyers. They specialise in a range of practice areas including corporate and intellectual property. They are widely recognised for representing well-known clients and are consistentlyawarded for their work in technology and innovation.
They are now looking to hire a Billing Specialist who will be responsible for responsible for assisting the Senior Accounting Manager - Europe, other Billing Specialists, the Electronic Billing Specialist and wider Finance Department in client billing. Nodirect reports.
**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for all billing aspects for designated billing attorneys: distribution, logging, preparation, processing, and mailing of client billing.
- Provide prompt and accurate assistance to attorneys, clients, and staff in resolving complex billing problems by providing billing analysis/adjustments.
- Research all inquiries regarding past and present billing.
- Provide guidance and training to new billing attorneys as necessary.
- File and prepare past month's billing for electronic scanning.
- Review and summarise engagement letters pertaining to special financial agreements.
- Implement and maintain special fee and cost rate structures in accordance with Firm policy.
- Implement and maintain client and matter database.
- Implement time transfers/ write offs, credit notes / bill reversals in accordance with Firm policy.
- Provide billing information regarding billing history / trends.
- Preparing statement of accounts for Agent invoices as per timekeeper requests.
- Work with the Electronic Billing Specialist in raising E bills and submitting them through the relevant broker sites, including the follow up of all rejected E bills to ensure prompt payment.
- Working closely with the Senior Revenue Coordinators on revenue management.
- Managing Aged WIP by providing reports to Partners & Timekeepers.
- Checking client monies with the Finance Department on a weekly basis.
- All other duties as assigned or required
- Available to work overtime, as required.
- AAT certification (or equivalent).
- Prior law firm experience essential.
- Working knowledge of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules.
- Previous 3E and electronic billing experience preferred.
- Prior experience with the principles of billing, accounts receivables, accounts payables, internal costs, collections, billing rates and client maintenance procedures. COMPETENCIES:
- Must be able to successfully maintain and promote attorney and client relations.
- Possess excellent written, communication and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Extensive experience of handling a significant volume of front-end billing work.
- Must manage workload proactively and independently, possessing excellent follow-up skills.
