**Early Years Practitioner**:
**Overview**:
EYFs Apprentice who will be working in our EYFS classes. The role will be mainly based in our Nursery but the post holder may sometimes be required to support in our Reception class.

**Role and Responsibilities**:
Brandling Primary School is looking to recruit an Early Years Apprentice to work in our EYFS classes, to achieve level 2 (with the possibility of moving to level 3).
- Providing high quality care and education to our children
- To assist in supporting parents and families
- To assist on contributing to curriculum planning and next steps for our children
- To support with the setting up and replenishing of resources in the classroom
- Ensuring the learning environment remains well organised, tidy and stimulating
- To work as part of the Brandling Primary School Team and participate in appropriate professional development
- To support children before and after school
- To contribute to the organisation and administration of the school.**Required Skills**:

- Ability to work effectively with children
- Some knowledge of child development would be useful
- Willingness to undertake CPD

**Required Qualifications**:
Maths, English and ICT, GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent

**Training**:
Level 2 Early years apprenticeship
- Maths and English to Level 2 required, if not already achieved
- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour in relation to
- customer service principles and practices
- business principles
- technical competencies
- knowledge and understating
- research activities
- commercial awareness
- managing challenging situations and taking ownership
- health and safety
- Ongoing assessment by the employer and provider - for example meetings with apprentice, employer and learning provider, observations of workplace, gathering evidence

Undertake a self-assessment in the last month of their apprenticeship to enable them to see whether they are confident that they have taken on board all aspects of the occupation. This self-assessment must be submitted to the independent end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for independent End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio; a project; an employer reference and a structured interview about their portfolio and project.
