**Waiter/ess**

**A waiter/ess at Niku is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests. This role is important in ensuring guest satisfaction as it ensures that customers are enjoying their meals and requires waiter/ess to take action to correct any problems.**

**Waiting team Objectives**:

- Offer recommendations and answer questions about the menu**
**- Provide excellent customer service**
**- Up-sell when appropriate**
**- Always strive towards best customer satisfaction**

**Waiting team duties**:

- Take and serve food/drinks order**
**- Arrange table settings**
**- Check products for quality**
**- Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines**
**- Cooperate and communicate with serving and kitchen staff**
**- Keep tables clean and tidy at all times**
**- Make suggestions**
**- Greet customers**
**- Has great knowledge of the food menu and announces daily or seasonal menu specials**
**- Answers questions about menu items, ingredients, and pricing**
**- Taking customers’ orders and using a tick system by ensuring each item has been delivered to the guests**
**- Verifies food orders are correct and serves them to customers**
**- Ensures customers are happy with everything by completing checkbacks**
**- Removes used dishes, glassware, and flatware from tables**
**- Prepares bills and delivers them to customers**
**- Process cash and card payments and returns change to customers if necessary**
**- Sets tables with all appropriate tableware**
**- Constantly maintains familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information**
**- Meets with managers or host daily or regularly in order to learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs**

Part-time hours: 15 - 35 per week

**Salary**: £11.00-£14.00 per hour
