**Marketing Assistant**

**This role gives you the flexibility to come up with creative solutions and campaigns to promote British Sign Language across the UK.**

**Following the success of Rose Ayling-Ellis on Strictly Come Dancing, we are seeing more people looking to learn BSL. And with the BSL Bill currently going through parliament and the GCSE in the pipeline it’s a great time to join a fun and engaging team.**

**Responsible to**:
Marketing and Digital Service Manager

**Job summary**:
Support the Marketing and Digital Service manager to generate brand awareness through both traditional marketing and media campaigns. Helping to drive the organisations communications and PR strategy to increase recognition.

**K**ey Tasks*

**1. **Assist with the development and implementation of Signature’s marketing, communication, and PR strategy to deliver effective and timely communication to key audiences.

2. Assist the Marketing and Digital Services manager with the creation and recording of assessment and student support materials.

3. Lead on the editing and quality checks of assessment and student support materials.

4. Responsible for the Signature social media channels, ensuring we achieve ongoing substantial growth, delivering agreed targets.

5. Responsible for all creative content, producing high quality and clearly written visual content to communicate effectively to all internal and external stakeholders including media, government, customers, and partners.

6. Assist creating content for our website, writing, and adding new content pages and producing insightful, relevant blogs to maintain SEO, liaising with our web development agency.

7. Assist with the management and development of innovative digital products and services including the videos and content on the Signature Learning Hub.

8. Responsible for ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and production standards both internally and externally.

9. Observe trends and sector media and customer buyer/engagement patterns and suggest recommendations to the Marketing and Digital Services Manager.

10. Provide support on behalf of the organisation at events ensuring our reputation is managed and maximum exposure is achieved.

12. Carry out any other duties which may be reasonably be expected of the postholder.

**Marketing Assistant**

**Requirements**:
**Education/qualifications**
**Essential**
- General education levels to GCSE and A level or equivalent.
- GCSE English or equivalent.

**D**esirable*
- A - Level English.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
- Recognised marketing or media qualification.

**Experience**
- Marketing, media, or PR experience in a small to medium organisation.
- Design Experience (Adobe)
- Video Editing and best practice
- Creative Content creation

**Desirable**
- Understanding of deaf and disability issues and the issues facing providers in the not-for-profit sector.
- Initial development of media relations.
- Copywriting
- Web content management systems

**Knowledge**
- Working in a competitive market.
- Working with digital software, platforms, and design packages.
- Working with a wide variety of marketing channels.
- Designing marketing collateral.

**Desirable**
- Understanding of design and print production processes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of appropriate accessibility standards for printed materials.
- Maintenance and amendment of websites.

**Location and working hours**
The post is based in Signature, which is located in Shannon House, Mandale Business Park, Belmont, Durham, DH1 1TH.

Working hours - full-time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

**Salary**

Full-time up to £24,000 gross per annum, dependent on experience.

**Holidays**

Full time - 26 working days per year plus recognised bank or public holidays currently 8 in all. Of the 26 days holiday, you must keep up to 3 days each year to bridge the gap between Christmas and the New Year, when the office closes.
