Chemical manufacturing and testing business based in the Widnes area requires a Head of Finance and IT. This role is a key part of the management team and sits within the leadership team and reports directly to the Managing Director. This business is partof a larger global business, and this role will have responsibility for working with the larger group.

This role is responsible for the Finance and IT functions managing the full spectrum of finance, accounting and IT activities, delivering performance to agreed standards whilst developing and improving the function as necessary to address the changing natureof the business and its environment.

Responsibilities for this role will include:

- Lead the finance team to ensure the delivery of high quality and timely financial reporting and management information
- Statutory and management reporting and analysis
- Preparation and execution of budgets and forecasts
- Month end reporting
- Compliance with internal and external legal requirements e.g., internal control requirements
- Full responsibility for statutory accounting
- Managing internal and external audits - tax, financial and internal
- Ensure IT topics are addressed and in line with corporate IT policies and requirements
- Work collaboratively with HR to ensure payroll and other employee compensation schemes (e.g., pension) are adequately administered and compliant with legal and statutory requirements
- Ensuring all legal stipulations in UK are duly complied with
- Fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
- Management skills and experience with the ability to successfully lead, motivate and inspire a team with experience of leading through change
- Experience with SAP FI/CO is important preferably through implementation/transition
- A pragmatic nature with the ability to work independently with good networking and communication skills within the matrix organisation of an international group which relies on constructive and flexible teamwork
- Strong leadership skills and possess the ability to influence others for a positive business impact
- Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and ambition to be part of a successful team.
- Drive, determination and resilience and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment would also be an advantage
