With a big national focus on improving services for children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, there has never been a better time to join Oxford Health CAMHS in BaNES and make a positive difference to children and young people’s life chances.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers interested to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service based in Keynsham. You will work in Getting Help teams to deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
The Getting Help service offers short term, goal
- based interventions for young people who need more support than that available from first line services, such as school nurses or school counsellors.
As a Mental Health Practitioner you will be responsible for initial assessment, delivery and evaluation of care and provide psycho-educational advice and practical support to young people and their families by drawing on evidence
- based interventions and using a collaborative, recovery focused approach. Risk assessment and management including the need for positive risk taking is an important part of the role.
You will have the opportunity to make an active and meaningful contribution to our exciting service modernisation and redesign that is based on the i-Thrive model, ensuring children and young people get the right support, at the right time, in the right place, from individuals with the right skills. Liaison, advice and consultation with wider CAMHS, colleagues in Children Services and a range of external agencies such as Children’s Social Care, Education, Youth Offending Services and Police is central to the role.
This is a varied and rewarding role within a highly supportive team. Clinical Supervision and CPD are priorities for the service. We are an inclusive and forward thinking team with a strong focus on training, CPD, supervision and staff wellbeing.
Benefits of working for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust include:
