Applications are invited from suitably qualified Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers interested to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service team based in Keynsham, Bath and North East Somerset.
You will focus on delivering the CAMHS School Link role for agreed educational settings, such as schools and colleges, in Bath and North East Somerset and contribute to the Getting Advice part of the CAMHS Service, by supporting delivery of pre-referral consultations and Getting Advice functions such as consultations to young people, parents/carers and a wide range of partner agencies.
The role includes supporting the delivery of the OSCA and Liaison Service by providing mental health assessments for young people at the acute general hospital and delivering interventions for young people experiencing a mental health crisis.
The post holder will work across the Getting Advice, Getting Help and the Outreach Service for Children and Adolescents (OSCA) Risk Support teams to deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties. The post holder will also take an overarching responsibility for coordinating and processing new referrals.

The post will have a focus on delivering the CAMHS School Link role for agreed educational settings, such as schools and colleges, in Bath and North East Somerset.
The post holder will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children, young people and their families experiencing mental health difficulties. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and evaluation of care and provide psycho-educational advice and practical support to young people and their families by drawing on psychosocial evidence-based interventions and using a collaborative, recovery focused approach. Risk assessment and management including the need for positive risk taking is part of the role.
The post holder will contribute to the clinical leadership of the team, providing supervision for other team members as agreed with the Clinical Team Manager and participate in the team service development and evaluation.
You will integrate the mental health agenda and community resilience within the education settings identified. This includes delivering training, supervision, consultation and support for staff and young people in the agreed educational settings.
You will provide advice, training and support to partnership agencies and to work in conjunction with named education settings, and their respective partner agencies to deliver shared goals regarding the management and promotion of positive mental health and early access when treatment is required.
Liaison, advice and consultation with wider CAMHS, colleagues in Children Services and a range of external agencies such as Children’s Social Care, Education, Youth Offending Services and Police is also central to the role.
