Design and manufacturing takeplace at a purpose-built facility in the beautiful Hope Valley in the Peak District on the outskirts of Sheffield where they have been based since 1938.

**About the Role**:
This is an ideal position for a production manager looking to challenge a company and themselves to increase team cohesion and focus, drive down costs and seek to continually improve all aspects of production.

**Primary responsibilities**:

- Overseeing manufacturing including planning, coordinating, and controlling all the steps in the production process to make sure products are delivered on time and within the budget.
- Creating and execute weekly, monthly production schedules via Microsoft Project.
- Manage and support the 2 Production Supervisors ensuring that they are capable to fulfill the requirements of their roles to obtain optimum productivity.
- Ensure that resources are utilized effectively to drive improvements.
- Liaise with different departments, teams & companies, e.g., Managers, Project Managers, Suppliers and clients.
- Attend project close out meetings in regards manufacturing.
- Reduce costs and improve manufacturing yields, using best practices and professional knowledge.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Production policies and procedures.
- Work with the quality, continuous improvement team and other departments as and when needed.
- Liaise and report regularly into the Director of Operations
- Ensure best working practice is followed across all Departments.
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
- A bachelor's degree in production, manufacturing, materials science and engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential
- Proven experience of working as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Solid technical background and ability to read engineering drawings
- Previous experience in manufacturing, preferably with industrial equipment, though a background in metals and/or electrical assembly manufacturing would also be beneficial.
- Strong leader and motivator with solid personal skills
- Creative, good communicator, good interpersonal skills
- Must be PC literate with spreadsheets, word processing, and scheduling programs
- Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) systems
- Due to site location, full UK driving licence and own transport is extremely preferred. There is a railway station adjacent to the site which is on the Sheffield - Manchester Trans-Pennine route but please do
