Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire our instantly recognised and growing client are looking for a Lead BI Analyst to join their busy team on a permanent basis.
This exciting opportunity would suit someone with at least 4 years' experience working in/with commercial teams in an analytical focused role.
This is a dynamic, expanding company with an impeccable reputation as a market leader. The company has an excellent track record of success and has been developing this team in recent years to be a central part of the business.
The successful individual will have strong experience with financial metrics and management reporting, with demonstrable experience in delivering large, data-focussed commercial change projects. For this role you will need to have advanced SQL developmentskills, as well as advanced experience in developing, designing and coaching with a leading data visualisation tool (i.e. Tableau / PowerBI) and MS Office skills.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop new/enhanced reporting and visualisation of data to support effective decision-making
- Gather requirements for new/enhanced data visualisation/reporting
- Develop high quality visualisation within a data vis tool, iterating efficiently via feedback from the commissioning function/team/user
- Lead the adoption and utilisation of reporting and visualisation by playing key data evangelist role
- Ensure new/enhanced visualisations are understood and being used effectively, soliciting feedback where appropriate to understand how improvements can be made or what is working well
- Actively challenge business users on report utilisation, chair workshops, showcase latest developments / updates and establish best practice
- Lead reporting and measurement in one or more areas of functional utilisation of data
- Develop a strong understanding of the underlying KPIs and business decisions / processes being supported
- Establish and manage a functional delivery backlog and utilise 'in-team' developer resource to deliver against it
- Establish and imbed self-service data analytics to drive efficient development of queries and ad-hoc reporting
- Become an integral part of the weekly Trading cadence within a function, assisting in interpretation of data and analysis on hot topics
- Develop high quality data structures and support provision, consistency and quality of data.
- Contribute to an IT development backlog and work with technical project teams to deliver new datasets and enhancement to existing data and systems
