Senior Gas Responsible Person - Location Forthview House, Rosyth
- Confirm that a sufficient number of Gas Responsible Persons (GRP) are appointed with specific responsibility for the management of work on gas systems.
- Assistance in developing and satisfying the requirement for an extensive gas document centre for all sites on the contract.
- Ensure that all points of demarcation and operational interface with other Authorities are clearly identified, agreed, understood and recorded.
- Ensure that the GRPs are made aware of any information or notices relevant to their networks/areas as soon as is reasonably practicable and ensure that they receive copies together with any appropriate advice to prevent danger.
- Ensure any amendments to JSPs, GSC & GSMP are brought to the attention of and are understood by the GRP.
- To assist in all investigations of a gas nature and ensure full reporting in line with the GSC, GSMP and company procedures.
- Provide cover for the Gas Safety Manager as required.
- To formally review and approve the content of the Gas Safety Management Plans on behalf of the GSM prior to submittal for full GSM approval.
- Taking information from the site Gas RP and compiling the quarterly PSPI report for submission to the Gas Safety Manager, for forwarding to the DIO PGE.

Additionally,
- Assist with formalizing operational restrictions on equipment or areas that may arise out of specific equipment defects or arising from maintenance and as may be notified by GRPs. Advise on the issue of mitigation measures, if applicable, to allow continued controlled use of the equipment whilst planning for remedial works.
- Provision of technical support to the site Gas RP's during involvement in issues of a non-compliant nature, and additional support to ensure a course of action is identified to return the situation to a compliant state.
- Suitably experienced in MOD requirements, specifically around the Joint Service Publications (JSP).
- Direct support and mentoring of the Gas RP with regards to the writing, approval, and reviews of the site Gas Safety Management plans.
- To liaise with the Gas Safety Manager on a regular basis and provide a report on levels of operational compliance across the estate.
- Ongoing technical support to the Gas RP relevant to client (DIO), site operation's staff and project managers requests.
- Provision of support to the site Gas RP in relation to annual gas safety audits, ensuring all relevant information is relevant and available for the auditor.
- Initial supervision of the Gas RP whilst carrying out gas network maintenance tasks in line with Technical Standards 01, to ensure the tasks are carried out in the correct manner and certification provided is relevant to the task.
