We are Actihire A passionate, community-focused company that works with schools to help hire out their facilities to local clubs and groups during evenings, weekends and school holidays.

When the schools aren’t using their facilities our community hirers are The Leisure Assistant role involves:

- Working flexibly during evenings, weekends and school holidays
- Full opening and closing responsibilities - including holding keys and learning alarm codes
- Following set procedures - including using apps to clock in and out, complete checks and submit forms to Actihire Head Office
- Cleaning and tidying of the facilities ready for community bookings, as well as returning the facilities back to how they were found ready for school the next day
- The ability to build genuine relationships with both school staff and our community hirers to manage behaviours and activity when on-site
- On-site decision making - though supported remotely at all times, you will work unsupervised and be expected to make decisions yourself/use initiative to create solutions to the on-shift challenges you face

**Overview of the role**
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and diligent Leisure Assistant to act responsibly without supervision and look after our community hirers, delivering a professional and enjoyable leisure experience every single time.

You’ll succeed in this role if you are:
RELIABLE - As a lone working role, turning up on time for claimed shifts and following all procedures that we and our partner schools expect is key.

A NATURAL PROBLEM SOLVER - The dual-use of a school - teaching and learning vs community-use - doesn’t always run smoothly You’ll need to think on your feet and use common sense to create solutions that keep our schools and hirers happy when you’re on-shift.

A PERSON WHO GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND - Actihire makes money and improves local communities when the hirers are happy and satisfied with their facility hire. Creating a pro-active, welcoming environment for customer service and relationship building is a key part of achieving this. We serve our school and community hirers at all times and always go above and beyond to create satisfied customers and positive outcomes.

A TEAM PLAYER - Though you will work alone on-site, you’re part of a wider community of well over 100 Actihire Leisure Assistants working hard to support schools and communities across the country. Covering shifts for colleagues during last minute changes/periods of annual leave and working together remotely to problem solve issues that arise is second nature to all our onsite teams.

**Basic Requirements**
- Be over 18 years of age
- Be able to pass a full DBS background check, due to the nature of the role
- Available to work flexibly during evenings and weekends
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Be able to travel to and from the school you work at in a reliable, organised and timely fashion whenever you’re rota’d to work

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £9.50-£10.42 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
