**Role Purpose**

The purpose of the MHS is to help alleviate mental health and wellbeing during heightened arousal or crisis through supportive therapeutic provision within the local community facilitated by the MHS team. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will be a core member of the MSS team working with CYP’s between the ages of 5 - 18 years old who present or are referred to My Safe Hub (MSS).

This MSS Mental Health Advisor role would suit an experienced Mental Health Youth Worker, CAMHS support worker, Youth Counsellor, Child Wellbeing Practitioner, Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, an Assistant Psychologist with some training in MH interventions like CBT and some experience of working with CYP’s presenting with difficulties related to their MH that can work within a small multi-disciplinary crisis containment team.

The MSS will mainly deliver short-term support in crisis using evidence based therapeutic treatment modalities on-site. There will also be ongoing support for these CYP facilitated through liaison with HFEH Mind’s in-house social prescribing services to ensure a seamless onward transition to self-management, relevant specialist Community Mental Health services, Social Care or other relevant partner agencies where required.

**Job Summary**

The Mental Health Advisor role is a key part of the HFEH Mind Complex Needs Hub and providing flexible and evidence-based episodes of crisis care and treatment to young people age 5 - 18 presenting to our crisis café. Your role will include the mental health support and psychoeducation for CYP’s who are experiencing acute crisis. The Mental Health Advisor will work in partnership with the MSS Practitioners to alleviate MH Wellbeing and offer support through de-escalation; identifying and creating back up support systems; psychoeducation, problem solving, relaxation/mindfulness events; facilitating phone calls and assisting young people to navigate community support primarily at the MSS base.

The aim of the service is to provide psychosocial, holistic support in crisis that is helps de-escalate crisis presentations, problem solve difficult circumstances, guide MH self-management and subsequently alleviate MH wellbeing for all CYP’s accessing the service.

You will support CYP by providing a systematic approach to CYP mental health that will include:
De-escalation and relaxation in the café as a therapeutic space
- Understand the risk formulation
- Co
- produce a safety plan with the CYP, parents and/referrer.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team to alleviate stimulus presentation through appropriate containment and support the co-production of health alternative responses and/behaviors.

**Hours: Monday to Friday are 3pm - 11pm, Saturday and Sunday are 12pm - 8pm**
**Contract**: **18 months**
