Associate Director of Operations

As part of the Divisional Management Team and in conjunction with the Director of Operations, provide operational leadership to the Division. Working in partnership with Heads of Service, General Managers, Operational Managers and other management and professional leads (within and outside of the Division) ensure high quality, safe and effective patient services.
In partnership with the Divisional Director of Operations (DDO) for CSS working closely with all divisional leadership teams, to provide senior performance oversight for all CSS services across the organisation.
Working as a key part of the senior Divisional Management Team, promote effective governance ensuring that the highest standards of clinical care are delivered and that all clinical and non-clinical performance indicators, targets and objectives are met in line with national and local standards.
Work with the Director of Operations and Chief of Service in the translation and delivery of both Divisional and Trust-wide clinical service strategies, corporate and divisional objectives and the development and implementation of business plans and service developments.
This role provides leadership and managerial direction across areas as defined and delegated by the DDO including staff and the budgets for these services to help lead the strategic development of Services in line with the Trust’s overall strategy and Integrated Business Plan
Ensure that quality, performance, constitutional standards, CIPs and budgetary targets are monitored, and interim plans are devised where necessary to enable compliance and achievement.
Ensure effective liaison with commissioners, ICB, & NHS England and that joint working and positive working relationships are developed and sustained. Engender effective partnerships with all stakeholders across the locality and service.
The post holder will have shared responsibility for supporting the delivery of financial targets across the Division as delegated by the Director of Operations and Chief of Service.

Deputise in the absence of the Divisional Director of Operations (DDO):
Lead on all aspects of performance management and service delivery within the Division.
Take operational decisions including budget spend for any urgent short-term operational issues. Support the Hospital-wide operational functions providing leadership and decision making as required including escalation/liaison to external agencies where appropriate.
Represent the Division and Trust at meetings as required for example: Divisional Strategic Deployment Review (SDR) meetings, Executive level committees and sub-committees, efficiency meetings, workforce transformation meetings.
Chair meetings in place of the DDO where appropriate
Lead the strategic development of designated services, in partnership with the DDO and Chief of Service.
In the absence of the DDO, have delegated responsibility for budgets across the division.
To ensure accurate and robust collection of cancer & DMO1 data, PTL management and performance reporting (internally & externally).
Provide specialist knowledge of a range of services, policies, and practices.
Work in conjunction with the Divisional Director of Operations (DDO):
Ensure alignment of the Trust’s strategic direction and resulting activities of the Division.
Translate service strategy into robust management, financial and business planning activities across the Division, with the support and advice of other
