Vickerstock are delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading main contractors as they look to appoint an Architectural Design Lead on a permanent basis. This is a senior role where you'll be working within their new interior Fit-Out and specialist joinery division. You'll be based at their head offices just outside of Belfast. Due to the high quality of their construction and delivery, alongside their impressive customer service, the company have built up one of the most respected and enviable reputations within the industry, resulting in repeat business from some of the UK's leading brands within the retail and commercial sector.

The role

You'll be a motivated designer and will work closely with clients in order to translate their aspirations into designs for exciting and cutting edge interior spaces. You'll assist the Director and Operations Director in developing and supporting Client relationships. You'll work with designers to realise the scheme design in accordance with agreed budget while also work closely with the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor to manage and monitor the project. You will work with the workshop manager to refine and develop detailing and fabrication drawings. You'll maintain and organise project files / drawings / schedules and specifications within Viewpoint 4Projects. You'll also visit site and assist in delivery of projects.

What you'll need

You'll have an Architectural design background, ideally with at least 5 years post qualification design or construction experience, strong conceptual and presentation abilities and be well organised with a detailed understanding of delivering design and procurement programmes within a deadline driven environment. You'll be fully proficient in AutoCAD and ideally Revit with a strong knowledge of UK building regulations. You'll have strong technical and practical CAD skills with an understanding of Architectural conventions and compiling and delivering Work Packages. Site experience including liaising with consultants and sub-contractors is essential.
