**M&E Quantity Surveyor - Cambridge or Essex**

**The Company**

Highfield Professional Solutions are working closely with a multidisciplinary construction and property consultancy, delivering a number of services across the UK. Our client is actively looking for a M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Quantity Surveyor to workwithin their cost management department. This exciting opportunity will encompass all M&E technical aspects of quantity surveying meeting the demands of a number of key projects.

**The Position**

You will work in all areas of cost management, including but not limited to the following:

- Preparing budget estimates / cost plans
- Preparing bills of quantities
- Preparing tender documents
- Tender evaluation and report
- Interim valuations
- Cost reports and final accounts including the evaluation of contractor's claims
- Effective variation control
- Reporting direct to clients including presentations

**Could this role be for you?**

If you have experience in quantity surveying within a consultancy environment and you enjoy working on a variety of projects, then this role could be for you. You will:

- Ideally hold MRICS (or equivalent level qualification)
- Be degree qualified
- Have a M&E background and working knowledge of quantity surveying
- Have proven team leadership and development record
- Have good IT literacy, particularly in respect of preparing spreadsheets
- Have excellent standards of numeracy and literacy skills
- Have the ability to communicate effectively at a high technical level with clients, members of the design team, other professionals in the industry, and contractors in all written communication; and
- Be capable of working to specific targets and timescales
