As our **Deputy Director for Counter Fraud** you will be responsible for devising HMLR’s counter-fraud strategy and working across the organisation to ensure it is implemented effectively as well as being responsible for counter-fraud intelligencegathering, investigations and casework interventions.You will provide expert advice to the Executive Board and other senior leaders across the organisation and will represent HM Land Registry as part of the wider government counter fraud profession.

**Responsibilities as our** **Deputy Director for Counter Fraud**:

- To set and continuously develop and deliver the counter-fraud bribery and corruption strategy for HM Land Registry, ensuring alignment to HM Land Registry’s business strategy.
- Consider and regularly review the risk of fraud to HM Land Registry as well as emerging fraud threats and trends.
- Regularly review and advise upon the right balance of preventative and detective controls to enable the successful delivery of HM Land Registry projects and programmes.
- Actively seek out best practice and see that this is integrated into organisational practices and procedures.
- Be an influential leader of the Counter Fraud Group (CFG) within HM Land Registry providing strategic leadership and direction for CFG.
- Develop and train highly skilled, diverse, and motivated teams charged with identifying, investigating and preventing fraud, bribery and corruption and other economic crime within HM Land Registry.

**What we are looking for in our Deputy Director for Counter Fraud**:

- A relevant qualification, or equivalent, significant recent experience in managing counter fraud and/or a relevant area (ie, fraud investigation and intelligence, counter-fraud strategy and policy, fraud risk assessment and measurement) at a senior level
- Ability to think strategically and to undertake complex problem solving, reaching sound, logical conclusions, and recommendations.
- Experience of drawing on best practice to drive continuous improvement
- Able to demonstrate even handedness, impartiality and fairness when dealing with contested cases
