Enterprise and Growth Unit
The Enterprise and Growth Unit (EGU) promotes sustainable economic growth and higher productivity for the UK. We provide analysis and advice on enterprise, innovation, private sector investment and a cost-effective transition to a low-carbon economy. The Enterprise and Growth Unit has a varied and exciting agenda and we work closely with a wide variety of other teams across the Treasury.

**About the Team**

The EGU Projects Branch sits at the centre of the Enterprise and Growth Unit of HM Treasury. We are a hard-working and fast-paced team of six people that delivers strategic projects across EGU on Ministerial and senior official priority areas.

We are currently seeking a Range D to work on strategic projects. Typically, these projects will relate to key cross-cutting policy issues or Ministerial requests. The team receives bids for resource in line with EGU priorities, and team members are allocated to short (typically c.3 month) projects in different areas of the department. This gives team members the chance to gain insight into a wide range of EGU’s work, providing an excellent foundation to a civil service career.

1. Develop your knowledge and understanding of new policy areas to support robust and evidence-based policy recommendations, often at pace.
2. Act as a key point of contact for your policy area, dealing with any issues or queries as they arise.
3. Produce advice for - and be ready to brief - ministers, senior officials, and other stakeholders on a range of policies.
4. Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of HM Treasury’s teams, government stakeholders, and organisations from the private sector.
