A Database and Music Administrator is required as soon as possible. This post would suit an enthusiastic and committed administrator with strong interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills. Knowledge of school systems would be an advantage, but is not a requirement as a full induction would be provided. A positive mindset and the willingness to learn and adapt are more important.

As Academic Systems/Database Administrator, the appointee will have responsibility for:

- Involvement in the continuing development of the school’s Management Information System, iSAMS.
- Facilitate staff engagement with iSAMS and to continue to improve communication between the school and parents.
- Maintain user accounts and permissions: staff, parents and pupil portal accounts.
- Collation, analysis and presentation of information to Senior Management and teaching staff by running database reports, designing ad hoc reports and Excel spreadsheets.
- Assistance in the administration of additional academic systems including YELLIS, MIDYIS, ALIS and Kerboodle.
- Data entry into the school’s MIS. This will include pupil and staff records, pupil and staff timetables.
- Assistance in the production and delivery of training materials for teaching and support staff and to parents for access to the Parent Portal.
- Assistance in providing support to teaching and support staff in the use of the school’s MIS.
- Administration of the Former Pupils’ Database.
- Any other reasonable duties as directed by their Manager.

As Music Administrator, the appointee will have responsibility for:

- Overseeing and co-ordinating music enquiries from a wide range of stakeholders, acting as first point of contact for the department.
- Administration of Music Department trips and events (including concerts).
- Timetabling of weekly music lessons (incl. exam rehearsals) for pupils across the Foundation (including maintaining relevant databases, publishing/distributing weekly timetables to colleagues, pupils and parents).
- Collating entries for music exams (instrumental/singing/theory exams)
- Entering students for ABRSM, Trinity, Rock School and other relevant music exams.
- Co-ordinating and overseeing any music exam sessions taking place on-site (e.g. liaising with examiners, managing the ‘examination room’).
- Leading on the management and maintenance of instruments/instrument stock (e.g. pianos) and other resources as appropriate.
- Assisting with further departmental administration as appropriate.
- To attend and support Music Department events as appropriate (by arrangement with the Director of Music).

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Effective and confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Used to working as part of a team.
- Experience in data input processing and analysis skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Prioritisation, organisation and time management skills.
- An interest in and enthusiasm for the school and its pupils.
- A commitment to professional development.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS:
A contributory pension scheme including life assurance is available.

Core working hours are 8:30-17:00 with an hour lunch break. The post is for 52 weeks of the year, however there is flexibility for less weeks to be worked, but there will be a requirement to work during the publication of examination results in August.
