Kaplan Financial and Kaplan Publishing, both part of the much larger Kaplan Group, offer training and Education opportunities across the UK to adults and young people alike, specialising in professional qualifications and apprenticeships within the Accountancy, Banking and Finances, and Data sectors. Training is delivered both online and in person, and as a result, Kaplan have come to own a substantial property portfolio across the UK. Now they’re looking for someone like you to help look after it.

Ostensibly charged with looking after the compliance and project work inherent in such a portfolio, you will be running a small facilities team alongside being hands-on when required across the Northern regions.

The role will suit someone with prior experience of working in the property arena with the following skills and attributes
- It is desirable to have relevant qualifications in some area of property
- Strong interpersonal skills, highly organised.
- Focus on partnership and collaborative working.
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and remote.
- Ability to influence through persuasive reasoning.
- Highly motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

The role

As the Head of Property and Facilities, here are some of the things you will be doing:

- Implement the company’s strategic plans for real estate, managing the facilities team(s) across the Kaplan estate
- Ensure all Kaplan locations are environmentally safe, fit for purpose, and compliant with all relevant legislation (which will require site visits).
- Contribute to the annual planning and budget process for both capital and operational expenditures relating to property
- Coordinate the work of outside contractors used for major property projects to ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards
- Work closely with senior leadership and external advisors in reviews relating to lease events, rent, business rates, acquisitions, sublets, dilapidations and service charges to ensure Kaplan achieves the best possible terms
