Our client is a leading research service provider who cover a range of services within pharmaceuticals, drug discovery and clinical trials. A large part of their research necessitates the use of blood and various other biofluids, given by donors, to completea plethora of disease research with the aim of treating disease and helping with early diagnosis. They are recruiting a Laboratory Technician into their team to process blood and other biofluids collected from volunteer donors. **The Role**
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be working in a professional environment where you will be expected to adhere to the Human Tissue Act (HTA), ISO 9001 and other internal safety standards. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, thefollowing:
- Centrifugation and separation of blood samples.
- Running microbiological and viral laboratory tests on urine samples.
- Buffy coat + PBMC separation.
- Reagent preparation
- Maintenance of laboratory records.
- A BSc in Biomedical science, or equivalent experience within a blood laboratory would be considered.
- Must have previous blood separation and laboratory experience.
- Previous experience in centrifugation would be a bonus, but not essential.
- Strong communication skills.
- The desire to learn new techniques.
- The ability to work effectively within a team and individually.
- The ability to work under pressure.
