POSITION

Reporting to the Master Blender & Head of Whisky Creation, the Lab Assistant will be an important and pivotal member of the Whisky Creation team and will provide comprehensive support to the essential functions within the laboratory team.

**What would a typical day look like**:

- Sample management support, e.g. receipting various samples in and out of the lab and update systems accordingly.
- Administrative support, including raising and receipting PO’s, sample despatch, duty payment, and certificates of analysis.
- Work with external labs when needed to coordinate samples and results analysis.
- General lab housekeeping & admin including support for sensory testing of NMS (new make spirit) & mature samples.
- Once training completed, provide support for HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) and GC (gas chromatography) routine analysis of NMS & production glycol samples.
- Provide support to the quality lab, including machine set up, calibration & daily support for production line as needed.
- Holiday cover of essential tasks for Lab Technician and Analytical and Sensory Technician.

PROFILE

**Technical Skills & Experience Required**:

- Previous lab experience is not required. A desire to work and develop within a busy lab-based environment is essential.
- Proficient in Excel and other MS Office tools.
