Service Desk Officer

Job Summary
The Service Desk Officer is responsible for receiving and managing tickets from the Service Desk Operators and carry out remote fix’s to user issues, and for helping the Service desk operators when needed and training in area of expertise
This is a new merged team that ultimately aims to be the 1st line support and basic user/system set ups both desktop and system request, however it is acknowledged that initially the potholder will have knowledge of desktop support OR system support.
Over time, with training the postholder will acquire knowledge to offer all 1st line support to the user.

Main Task& Overview of Responsibilities

- Ensure all incidents and service requests are recorded accurately, categorised, prioritised and progress managed on the Service Desk system
- Investigate enquiries and queries from staff and provide assistance and advice as
- Ensure all calls not resolved at first point of contact are passed on to the relevant team for resolution, in a manner according to their
- Progress follow up calls on behalf of customers, escalating where service level targets have been breached or unacceptable delays have been
- Ensure all follow up contacts to the Service Desk regarding logged incidents are accurately updated within the Service desk
- Ensure calls within the Service Desk area of responsibility are updated and signed off once the customer has confirmed the call has been resolved
