iSupply Scotland are recruiting Bus Drivers for their client in Dumfries.

**Job Purpose**
- To convey pupils to and from school and other associated duties.
- To undertake local Bus Service work.

**Main Responsibilities**
- To convey pupils to and from school for the purpose of Statutory School Transport, in all weather conditions, including severe weather lasting several days, drivers are responsible for deciding if it is safe to operate.
- To undertake local Bus Service work, conveying members of the public.

**Job Activities**
- Drive a bus for School Transport and Local Bus Service for the effective and efficient completion of transporting School Pupils and Members of the Public
- Must have a PCV licence and CPC Professional Driver Qualification
- Complete and record daily vehicle checks
- Present vehicle for interim vehicle checks and MOT’s in line with the Fleet Service’s instructions to ensure continued roadworthiness.
- Report any defects in line with current procedures.
- Clean the interior and exterior of School and Local Bus Service vehicles at required intervals.
- Drive other allocated vehicles as required.
- Lone Working is a critical part of these duties and requires accurate timekeeping and attendance.
- Use electronic ticket machines to issue tickets and collect fares for fare paying passengers (includes cash handling).
- Instructing and Implementing both Pupil and Public safety while travelling on the vehicle.
- Pupil safety - ensuring children are wearing seatbelts, dealing with behavioural issues whilst travelling on the vehicle
- Members of the public safety - dealing with confrontation and taking the appropriate action to diffuse the situation
- Communicating directly with the schools to address behavioural issues on the vehicle.
- Complete all necessary paperwork.

Rate of pay £11/hour
