As a Manager for Children's Mental and Emotional Health you will be a dedicated and experienced manager with the skills and abilities to ensure that staff across the Children, Young People and Learning Directorate remain skilled and confident in recognisingand supporting our young people with their emotional and mental health needs.
Challenging and celebrating practice, you will be able to work closely with colleagues across the social care system and partnership in securing the best outcomes for children. Providing consultation, expert advice and guidance to children's social care stafffor children impacted by challenges to their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

**Experience and Skills**

**Key Skills**:

- Listening to, and responding to, the voice of children. Able to recognise and respond sensitively to the vulnerability, equality and diversity needs of all whether stakeholders, colleagues, adults, and children
- Ability to make pragmatic problem-solving decisions
- Comprehensive skills and abilities in staff management
- Ability to engage and influence partner agencies to work collaboratively ensuring that changes are embedded and aligned to ensure seamless partnership working to improve outcomes for children. Ability to build strong relationships with multi-agency partners,that celebrate success and address challenge
- Experience of chairing effective, complex multi-agency meetings, promoting a culture of safe challenge, reflection and outcome-based discussion and decision making
- Ability to deliver compelling and accessible training

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Professional qualification or equivalent experience, relevant to the delivery of safeguarding children and child protection services
- Registration with SWE
- Post qualifying qualifications (e.g. leadership/management qualifications)
- Evidence of relevant ongoing post qualifying training including a commitment to continuing profession development
- Evidence of working in social care, education, health agencies, police, or other partners
- Experience of leading a social work team accountability for complex care and safety planning for children
- Experience performance managing, coaching, developing staff
- Extensive, up to date knowledge of relevant national and local policy, statutory guidance, and legislation in relation to safeguarding children and provision of services
- Knowledge of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Intervention and Services
- Knowledge of the child's journey through social care
- Understanding the challenges of partner agencies and managing a dynamic and changing environment
- Knowledge of challenges that face children and young people today
- Understanding of organisational challenges within the safeguarding arena and mental health services
